How to Find Pink Apple Orchard ~ Luxury Yurt Glampsite  

Pink Apple’s Glamping Site is based in the Glens of North Leitrim just at the tip of Lough Allen which is the central, largest lake seen on the map. Lough Allen is an area of outstanding natural beauty nestled in the core of County Leitrim. It is 11.2km long and 8km wide at its widest point. It is the uppermost and largest lake on the River Shannon. It lies between the Sliabh an Iarainn (Iron Mountains) and Arigna Mountains. We are situated at the top end of Lough Allen in the very heart of ‘Lovely Leitrim’, also central to many well known towns – Sligo, Carrick-On-Shannon and Enniskillen. Leitrim is a place of unique culture, full of hospitality and surrounded by beautiful unspoilt countryside. With the lake at our doorstep and all the abundance of landscape surrounding, there is always plenty to do from the unwinding tranquillity of our Pink Apple Orchard or to the exciting, majestic outdoor possibilities that await you!

Corry

We are based in a small area called Corry. This area lies almost central of the Drumkeeran/Dowra road (R200). Our Lane  No is L82444. If driving from Drumkeeran, you will need to take a right turning off the R200. If driving from Dowra, you will need to take a very sharp left turning off the R200 down L82444. Once on lane L82444, you follow the road passed two houses on your right. As you approach ‘The Lake View’ cream house you must veer to the right. Continue passed the creamy brown house which is on your right and the follow the road until you reach Pink Apple Orchard. N.B. There are two Pink Apple signs to help guide you as you turn off the R200 onto the side road L82444.  

There are two villages close by called Dowra and Drumkeeran. They are both approximately 4 miles from our luxury glampsite – Pink Apple Orchard. Both have 2 – 4 pubs and petrol pumps.

Drumkeeran, hosts a beautiful restored heritage Centre and large community hall, a children’s park, a butcher’s shop, a hair dressers, a local national school and Lough Allen College. Also held here are annual festivals, John McCenna music sessions and events.

Dowra The River Shannon runs straight through this quaint little village from where its natural source begins at the Shannon Pot only a 20 minute drive away. Where the river Shannon runs through Dowra, there is a beautiful spot called ‘The island’. It is a lovely spot for a picnic with a path, benches and a large grass area. Dowra, also has its own National school, playschool, resource centre, hairdressers and large Spar shop. Work is currently being undertaken to restore the ‘Old Court House’. The project is incorporating a section for tourism; there will be public toilets; a gallery & it will cater for 6 studio workshops. Also held are annual are small annual events and traditional music is played monthly through the summer months.
